Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that officers should make mindset, they will not allow the rights of the poor to be snatched away. The Chief Minister was reviewing the disposal of forest rights leases in the Ministry. He said that the Collector and the Forest Officer should listen carefully, any forest dweller who has held the land on or before 31 December 2005, must get a land lease. No eligible forest dwellers are deprived of the lease. If there is negligence in work, strict action will be taken.

Vanvasi is such a section of the society that cannot even tell its way properly, in such a situation, it is absolutely inappropriate to ask for evidence of pattas and revoke pattas on the basis of it. All collectors and DFOs should review all the cases and report in a week. Forest dwellers have to be given a lease.

The review of forest rights claims in the meeting revealed the fact that there are many cases in which tribal revenue is on the land. The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains to provide revenue land leases to such forest dwellers after conducting tests. At the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the claims of forest rights pattas district-wise. A review of Morena district found that out of 160 claims there, 153 claims were dismissed. On this, the Chief Minister expressed strong resentment that the officials wanted to give the lease or not. If this type of work is done for the poor, strict action will be taken. Warning was also given on poor progress in Katni and Seoni districts.

In the review, the Chief Minister found that out of the claims of 10 thousand 438 forest rights pattas in Barwani district, 9764 forest dwellers’ leases were approved. On this, the Chief Minister, Collector of Barwani District and DFO. Congratulations on being appreciated. Indore district was also congratulated for the good achievement in this work.

The Chief Minister said that tribal panchayats will be organized in tribal areas soon, in which he and the Tribal Welfare Minister Meena Singh will also visit. In these, forest rights pattas will be distributed to the tribals. He directed that the cases of non-tribals also eligible should not be canceled without reason. Examine their cases and they should also be given leases as per the provisions. A review of Bhopal district found that the claims of 6794 forest rights pattas have been quashed here, out of which 404 belong to tribals, the rest are non-tribals.
